daunting decision for us. Cherre was there for us every

I got your contact information after asking Cherre
Schwartz who I could write to about her work with my
family.
I live in Seattle, Washington. Two years ago I began
trying to talk my elderly Mom into leaving the South
Orange house my brothers and I had grown-up in — and my
Mother had lived in for 50 years. My Mother was
understandably reluctant, but gave me permission to talk
with a realtor. I asked around the old neighborhood and
then I called Cherre Schwartz.
I liked Cherre from our first conversation. She was
sympathetic, relatable, and (most important) truly
understood my Mom's reluctance to leave her home.
Sadly, my Mom died last spring before she could move.
After she died, I contacted Cherre and asked her to meet
me with my brothers at our house. It was a difficult day
— only a week or two after my Mom had passed away -- and
Cherre walked into a house occupied by three grieving
brothers and managed to strike exactly the right tone:
pragmatic, realistic, empathetic. There was no question
that we wanted to work with her.
We put the house up for sale in a difficult market and,
even worse, found out bit-by-bit that the structure was
suffering from a bad case of deferred-maintenance. Air
conditioning was broken. Pipes were leaking. Termites
were feasting. Every week seemed to bring more bad news
about the house — and no good news about the state of
the market.
And every week I was grateful for Cherre. Acting as
Administrator of an Estate from 3000 miles away is a
difficult task. Cherre was there for me every step of
the way, ready with a contractor recommendation, an
offer to let a worker into the house, the name of a snow
plow guy, or assurance that she would make sure a job
was done correctly. Whenever I traveled east to check on
things with my brothers, there was Cherre — coming by to
visit and cheer us up.
In the end, Cherre became like family to three Kaplan
boys who grew up at 316 Redmond Road. We sought her
counsel with every problem, and appreciated her insight
every step of the way.
More important — most important — To our family Cherre
morphed from realtor to long–lost sister. When you sell
a family home of 50 years, you are parting with a lot
more than boards and shingles. Maybe we could have
gotten the job done with another realtor, but I can't
imagine that we'd have gotten the job done nearly so
well – or happily – as we did with Cherre Schwartz.

appreciated the efforts that Cherre Schwartz made in
selling our condominium in South Orange this past
summer.
Even though our condo was very “humble” in comparison to
the properties with which Cherre usually works, she and
her son gave us all the respect, help and attention that
we could possibly ask for. Cherre gave us excellent
advice on how to inexpensively prepare and stage our
home for showing. She provided our listing to several

To Whom It May Concern:
We have sold two houses in South Orange in the past
three years; both times, the house was under contract
within a few weeks of first coming onto the market. It
is only due to Cherre Schwartz's experience, guidance
and determination that we could have been so fortunate
to have sold twice in this difficult market.
With our first sale in the late 2006, a smaller, unique
historic house that we had rented out, it was Cherre's
experience in dealing with the concerns of the buyers
that kept the sale on track through difficult
negotiations in a buyer's market. With our most recent
sale of our long-time large turn-of the century family
home, it was Cherre's knowledge of how to position our
house in the current market that got the job done.
Last year we visited Tuscon, Arizona and decided we
wanted to move here. We had lived in our beautiful home
in South Orange for 22 years, and it needed much work
before we could compete in the downturned market. Even
before we had returned from Tuscon, Cherre had gone thru
the house several times and made lists of things we
needed to do to prepare. Not only was Cherre able to
provide clear guidance as to what needed to be done, she
was also able to line up a WONDERFUL workman she had
worked with in the past, and we were able to hit the
road running as soon as we got back to New Jersey.
Cherre held our hands throughout what was often a
difficult and emotional process. We took her
suggestions, and in the process of changing wall colors,
taking up carpets and emptying the attics, we were able
to let go of the house and look to the future we knew -
and she knew - we wanted. We put the house on the market
after Labor Day in September '08 and we were under
contract just 17 days later! And that was even before
the appearance of the feature that Cherre somehow
managed to get into the New York Times "On the Market"
section.
We now live in Tuscon, and Cherre was able to make the
whole experience of leaving a house and a town that we
loved a calm, focused process. We cannot say enough
about her talent, dedication, and commitment in this
field. She is definitely number one in our book. If
anyone is looking to sell a house in New Jersey, she
would be our recommendation, without hesitation.
